PRESIDENT'S NIGHT, MARCH 5TH 2010

Mog Davey’s ninth annual Llanharan RFC President’s Night was celebrated at the clubhouse on Friday with an evening of excellent entertainment.
Introduced by club chairman Adrian Tattersall who described Mog as an iconic figure at Llanharan, the RFC Songsters provided the musical anchor for the show.
Led by Philip Benjamin, whose late father Tudor was also a club president, and accompanied by Marian Evans, the choir again punched above its weight.
Though small in numbers – new members cordially welcome (practice Tuesdays 7.30pm) – the Songsters gave fine renditions of an array of songs including favourites such as “Nothing like a Dame” and the Reverend Eli Jenkins’s Prayer.
There was also humour and song from Rhondda’s Tony West while Eve Sherritt brought the house down with a n amazing voice that did justice to everything from opera to musicals, interspersed with a humour that endeared her to the full concert hall.
There was also a fine buffet with the chairman thanking Diane Donovan for preparing the tables, as well as selling the raffle aided by Pauline Sharkey.
