Better Late Than Never!

The last week has been eventful down at the Dairyfield and a great success for all involved.

Rolling back to last Thursday (digs out calender...slept since then) 3rd August, the club held it's Annual General Meeting! The state of our union appears to be ticking along nicely as Club Auditor Rob Huckridge was able to report a successful trading year for Llanharan RFC! In terms of personnel, our beloved committee have been re-elected with but two changes.  First of all, Dai Martin steps down in order to follow Kierans career at Bridgend.  The club would of course like to place on record our thanks to Dai for all the hard work he's contributed but as one legend leaves another returns with the introduction of Meirion Reynolds to fold.  Meirion captained Llanharan from the back row in the early 1990s and went on to coach the Youth set up after hanging up the boots.  It's good to have you back!

For those of you who were there to join the festivities on Friday afternoon, I'm sure you've already signed up for November 17th because this turned out to be a cracker!  The Business Lunch had everything you could hope for, good food, great company with drinks aflowing and two fantastic guest speakers in the shape of British and Irish Lions scrum half, Robert Jones and comedian Lenny Dee.  Both had the crowd well entertained throughout, so much so that the club has already secured a number of table bookings in advance of the attendance at the club by Martyn Williamson November 17th.  Please please please get in touch if you are interested to avoid dissapointment.

Last but by no means least, a massive thank you to everyone who turned out in support of Tenovus Cancer Charity with over £2,000 raised for this special cause.  It was a great fun filled day with plenty of activites for everyone who attended - it was just a shame it all had to end when it did.
