Useful Run Out  - 3/8/2012 - LLANTWIT FADRE (F)

LLANHARAN 42 LLANTWIT FADRE 10 (HT 21-3)
Llanharan’s last action was in early February, so this was not just a win but a useful run out for Dai Atkins and his men as they start to think about the resumption of league action in a few weeks time.
They scored six converted tries, three in each half, with new recruit Adam Williams showing up well in the centre, but Llantwit had their moments too, the Swalec Two East outfit occasionally testing the home team’s defence from good attacking positions.
However, they were left flat footed by the Dairymen’s quick fire start which put two tries on the board in the opening minutes.
Centre Williams cut through from a scrum for the first and then, after Nathan Huish took a head, wing Josh Austin went over, Chris Williams converting both for a 14-0 lead.
Rob Kotyla gave his beleaguered team some encouragement with a penalty, but tight head prop Tom Piper showed impressive vision and acceleration to motor home from twenty metres, Williams again converting in what was to be a 100% night with the boot.
The Swalec One West side made victory secure with a 4th try early in the second half as loose head James Greenfield found the line at full stretch, but Llantwit were still in the game, left wing Sean Cooper stopping a certain try with a tackle on Chris Poole before making a searing break in the opposite direction that just failed to link up.
Llanharan weren’t fully asserting their superiority despite the effectiveness of the likes of Bill Carey in the back row. Lineout possession was a constant problem and referee Gary Davies’s whistle pulled them up far too often before a forward drive by Llantwit brought a try for second row Jordan Sieniawski which Kotyla converted.
It was final say to the Dairymen though as Williams grabbed his second and then Geraint Walsh strode through for the last, the conversions adding to an emphatic score line.
